Amidst the high-end boutiques of New York City’s Madison Avenue is situated Viva Eve medical center. Viva Eve empowers women’s engagement in their own healthcare journeys. This next-level space pairs gracious wood floors with a sleek curved reception desk, refined pendants, and a touch of orange on the wall opposite the ZONA 1 single glazed movable glass system, whose swing doors play the role of patient interview rooms. The Interview rooms provide women with a sense of privacy, allowing for confidential discussions while not feeling isolated.

The flexible ZONA 1 glass panels and doors maintain an important visual connection to the main reception area and natural light.

Located in Midtown Manhattan, the openness of the space is inviting to patients and specialists to come and go into the office. ZONA’s flexible glass fronts contribute to the openness, yet they can be closed for private interviews, creating a dual-purpose space as needed.

Contrasting hardware details on these modern ZONA 1 swing glass doors are the elegant 60” pulls in “Polished Brass” finish, which shine through the space and enable convenient access to each room.

When approached by this confidential client to enhance their entranceway and transform offices into a conference room, ZONA Glass Wall Systems emerged as the perfect fit to make the overall area more open and inviting.

One key feature of this building is the breathtaking view of the city skyline. The client emphasized that the transformed area would need to keep the view intact with minimal disruptions provided by the new installation.

ZONA 1 was an excellent choice for this application. With its single glazed system and thin black frame, not only is the view of the city skyline unimpeded, but the entire room became more spacious and appealing.

Center hung to provide a smooth transition from open to private meetings, these ZONA 1 Paired Panels are the ideal solution for this location; bringing in an abundance of light and scenery while keeping meetings acoustically private.

Easily stored when not in use, the ½” thick clear, tempered glass panels stack discretely out of the way, employing custom trollies that allow for flat stacking of the panels.

Spanning 40 feet, these swing panels are able to be disconnected for a more segmented approach. The first panel contains a pivot door entry into the room, followed by five pairs of center pivot panels that open and stack on either or both sides of the room.

The Preserve at Marsh Creek is a 55+ only community for active adults in the Chester Springs area. To help fully enjoy their golden years, the interior of the clubhouse needed to be functionable, easy to use, and aesthetically pleasing. ZONA Glass Wall Systems provided the solution to help keep the spring in their step.

Two LYNX TELESCOPIC™ moveable walls are prominent in the common area of the clubhouse, allowing light to permeate the room and give full view of the pool and surrounding grounds. Perfect for being social without dealing with the weather outside.

Transforming into the Future

When a location in the Flatiron District of New York wanted a modern uplift, a team of creative designers and architects took on the challenge to create an open and airy feel while maintaining the building’s existing architectural integrity. In order to accomplish this task, it was quickly realized that ZONA Glass Wall Systems would be instrumental in the transformation.

One of the main features of this space that needed an uplift were the wooden doors. In order to make the overall space more inviting, all of the existing wooden doors were replaced with sleek, modern, fully framed ZONA 1 doors and sidelights. These premium doors are produced locally and customized to fit the existing case openings.

ZONA’s elegant doors provide access to natural light and acoustic control. Being fully framed, slim but strong, and designed with 50% thicker aluminum profiles for unmatched rigidity.

With a multitude of finishes available, customizability is easily achieved. Showing a beautiful contrast to the crisp white doors is the brilliant hardware by Rixson in “bright brass” finish. A variety of levers and locking hardware were specified for the four doors installed in the showroom, with the hardware shining like jewels throughout the area.

Sleek Glass Wall System Elevates Dance Studio

Step inside Danznik Studios recently renovated space at 240 West 37^th Street in Manhattan. Petit-Frere Design brought to life a bold composition of sharp lines, lighting and eye-catching pops of color throughout the dance studio.

Visitors are drawn into the space by a welcoming, futuristic reception desk, flanked by two ZONA 3 double glazed systems.

From the first step off the elevator, a glimpse of color from the art wall draws dancers down the hallway thru a sleek ZONA 2 single glazed pivot door system.

The studio’s two adjacent walls are opened up by the ZONA Glass Wall Systems viewing panels, which elegantly frame the space like a piece of art. With just 1 ½” high profiles, the 40 STC ZONA walls afford visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves into the movement without forfeiting the focus of the dancers.

Design Flexibility in Slender Glass Wall Systems

Mount Sinai’s Center for Transgender Medicine and Surgery in New York City provides surgical care for Transgender and non-binary people. GKG Architects specified a flexible, premium glass wall system for the center’s unique architectural space in a former 1920’s bank building.

A collection of sleek ZONA 2 Glass Wall Systems, in clear anodized finish, are found throughout the center, beginning at the main entrance. ZONA’s glass doors are fully framed, with no exposed glass edges for safety and aesthetics. What makes ZONA special is 50% thicker aluminum wall profiles for unmatched system rigidity, while maintaining a slender profile. All stress points are reinforced by steel bracing, especially important for a main entrance.

The first photo demonstrates ZONA’s custom capabilities. The large steel tube to the right of the door hides an electrical riser found late in construction. We created a secure entry by using an electric strike system with our ZONA 2 door.

Upon entering the space, patients are greeted by a visually striking art installation which draws the eye to a beautiful oversized arch shaped window beyond the reception desk. The comfortable waiting area offers abundant mood-boosting natural daylight and expansive views.

ZONA continues at the reception desk. ZONA 2 frames, used as modesty panels at the reception desk, assure horizontal alignment and color consistency throughout the space.

A key element of ZONA, which sets it apart from other glass wall systems, is design flexibility and aesthetic consistency, which is achieved through ZONA’s slender 1 ½” high profile. This installation features level II clear anodized finish with ½” thick laminated glass. With a 38 STC, the glass panels provide sound separation between the private offices and common areas.

Continuity of design is found at the bi-folding paired ZONA panels. While the slender profile height is pleasing to the eye, it also matches the profile of ZONA’s swing doors and the two office front systems. Completely opening left and right, our bi-folds allow full access to this large closet.

Glass Walls and Movable Partitions Create Ultra Flexible Space

Explore EastBanc’s recently renovated, highly flexible space located at 330 Madison Avenue, in midtown Manhattan. Outfitted with a combination of sleek telescoping transparent glass walls and movable partitions, this futuristic office is steps away from its new neighbor, One Vanderbilt.

STUDIO V Architecture specified the slender, hand crafted LYNX TELESCOPIC™ along with solid white movable partitions for EastBanc, a multinational real estate development company. Without a cubicle in sight, the vibe is bright and energetic.

A series of tracks and sliding glass panels work together to create one of the most flexible spaces we’ve ever seen. One large expanse of LYNX TELESCOPIC stretches across the front of the individual private offices.

The glass office fronts may be opened up in a series, starting with the walls to the far right. The glass panels glide effortlessly and store neatly out of sight in a cleverly disguised pocket constructed of matching millwork.

The generous windows, dressed with crisp white motorized shades, offer views of neighboring supertalls stretching skyward. Abundant natural light floods the space. The shades may be individually lowered to control glare and solar heat gain as the sun works its way around the building. Modern linear acoustic pendant lights play off the glass wall panels and provide visual interest at the ceiling.

Modern Glass Wall System Meets Historic Landmark Structure

The recent renovation on the ground level of the New York Public Library’s Stephen A. Schwarzman Building, has been underway by Beyer Blinder Belle, while the city slowly turns the page on the ongoing pandemic.

Built by the Norcross Brothers, the 646,680 sf landmark Beaux-Arts marble structure took 16 years from concept to completion. Designed by Architects John Merven Carrère and Thomas Hastings, the library officially opened to the public in 1911. The architects also had a hand in the design of the tables, lamps, hardware, and other elements. It’s interesting to note, the interior work alone took five years to complete.

The proud lions gracing the north and south sides of the grand steps, nicknamed Patience and Fortitude, silently speak to the present day challenges the city, its inhabitants, and our world have faced during these unprecedented times.

Who says design needs to be by the book? Architect Beyer Blinder Belle beautifully melded historic elements and modern needs in the renovation of the building’s ground level.

ZONA 1 Glass Wall System was specified for the newly renovated ground floor office space including a conference room, research space and private rooms. With its slender profile, ZONA’s premium demountable glass wall system is highly customizable and results in a uniform profile across the entire space.

The 7’- 0” height demountable office front systems’ slender 1 ½” frames are finished in a smooth metallic color bronze powder coated aluminum. The fully framed doors create a clean aesthetic and provide added safety as there are no exposed glass edges. Elegant brass 60” ADA compliant ladder pulls provide an unexpected pop of color.

Each office front is outfitted with single glazed, ½” low-iron laminated glass. ZONA’s acoustical rating of 38 STC, confirmed by certified lab, results in an aesthetically pleasing and acoustically sound system. Free from outside distractions, focused work and privacy are possible, while each room feels connected to the overall space.

Our research uncovered that the design of the library began as a simple sketch, as did the original concept of ZONA Glass Wall Systems. We worked with architects to design a premium glass wall system, with top notch craftsmanship and keen attention to detail.

The library’s mission, “is to inspire lifelong learning, advance knowledge, and strengthen our communities” rings true now more than ever as the building begins to slowly reopen its doors to share the collection of over 15 million items carefully organized within its walls.

Located 25 miles just west of Philadelphia, Newtown Square is a relaxed suburban township, with a quaint downtown dotted with shops and restaurants. Winding country roads lined with lush green fields and historic structures lead to the site of a former 400-acre farm, now the upscale Toll Brother’s Liseter development.

The charming residence is situated on a generous corner lot, in the upper portion of the community, adjacent to the Newtown Meadow Preserve. Enter into the home’s grand two-story foyer, then take the stairs down to the ground level of the beautifully appointed space, complete with a half bath and divided into three distinct zones: children’s play area, entertainment hub and home gym.

Abundant natural daylight pours in from the generous egress window located in the cozy play area complete with pint sized table, chairs and toys. The welcoming oversized neutral sectional invites the family to watch a movie on the big-screen TV. The spacious home gym, with a Peloton^® and a variety of workout equipment at the ready, is neatly outfitted with a sleek, modern glass wall system and pass door.

After an initial visit with the family and grandchildren, Paul quickly realized a family friendly space separation solution was in order for the home’s ground level. Paul found ZONA Glass Wall Systems by conducting a Google search. When asked, “Why did you choose ZONA?” Paul replied, “Well, when I looked at what the product, they had available, I thought it was perfect for my situation. I saw that they had a style that was neat, clean and certainly modern to provide me with exactly what I was looking for.”

Originally, Paul wanted a ZONA glass wall system with mullions, but once he saw how clean it looked without them, he changed his mind. Early on in the design process, Paul envisioned the pass door in the center of the wall, but as he and the ZONA team talked it through, it made sense to position the door on the left-hand side. The door location helped with the furniture placement as the perpendicular portion of the sectional nicely carves out an ample walkway to the entrance of the home gym.

The ZONA 1 single glazed glass wall system features 15 linear feet of ½” laminated glass with frames in a sleek black anodized finish. A beautifully fully framed hinged door with black handle, complete the look. As there are no exposed glass edges around the door, operation is smooth and safe. The glass panels have an STC of 34 – 38, which allow a workout on the bike and adjacent movie viewing to take place simultaneously with minimal sound transmission.
